2 Free Guns... for me :)

1 Attachment(s)
So I go to a 3-year-old's birthday party on Saturday and one of the moms there says, "My husband has two uzis he is trying to get rid of." This of course, got my attention. I said, "Oh, really." She said, "Yes. Do you want them? You can have them for free." (me, choking on birthday cake) Sure!

Today she brought them by. I had a feeling they weren't "uzis", but free guns are free guns! The one on the left is a Cobray M12 (.380) and the one on the right is an Intertec TEC-DC9 (9mm). Both have fake supressors, and the TEC-9 has a 50 round magazine. I think I'll keep the 9mm, but sell off the MAC.

Cool, huh?

That Tec9 is a beauty! What state are you in (is it one where the 50 round mag is banned) ?

Great score!

That's just sick!
You got about $800 worth of guns there.
Personally, I'd dump the pos tec 9 and keep the Mac 12!
Check the parts you can get for it...I believe they're easy to go full auto.
Lots of parts available.

A pair of Uzis was just too much to hope for! :tongue_ma:

Great score!!!!!! But did the husband hand them to you??? I'm betting the husband is pissed today! Either way I too wouldn't turn them down. Once again great score. BTW I'll double what you paid for them and I'll pay the shipping! LOL!!

Nice score, I am confused though. What is the point of the fake suppressors on each of them?

Analogous to the "spinners" you see on some minority group's cars. Attractive to primates.

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Thats the way I feel about the "Black Rifles".

Then again, the primates are the ones you really have to watch out for.

Naw, he just ran into an anti gun housewife that "sold hubbys harley for $1"
I have come across deals like that but not for free - got a 1957 Model 12 16ga and a S&W 22 pistol for $40 just to get the guns out of the house. From another I got a 1954 pre-36 S&W 38 snub, Colt 25 auto and a H&R 22 mag derringer for about $100 cuz the little wife didn't want guns around the kids. Another widow sold me a cold combat commander, a german luger and a 1st gen colt SA 45 - all for $400 cuz she didn't need em around. Women are like that, they don't care what something costs, if they want it gone, it goes. I lost $2500 on a horse cuzs mine said she wasn't gonna deal with it any longer and she gave it away even though it was my horse.

Oh yeah, I do see your point - they ARE stolen! Just hope he doesn't find out who she gave them to - :shocked_ma:

sounds like two SN#'s just dropped out of the matrix to me...

strip 'em and clean 'em before you use 'em dude.

<SLV> 09-30-2008 11:21 AM

Re: 2 Free Guns... for me :)

I thought about those SS#s being "out of the matrix"...

I completely cleaned out the TEC-9, and it cleaned up real nice. I'm going to take care of the MAC today. I've decided to give the MAC to a friend to dispose of so he can get a good 9mm (he has NO guns, and he is starting to get concerned about the status of our country). If you want to buy the MAC drop me a PM with an offer.

I seriously doubt they are stolen. She told me that his friend gave them to him, and he decided he had no use for them. They have quite a bit of money, so a few hundred isn't a big deal. She did say she had some other revolvers she wanted to get rid of, but "he wants to keep the Kimber".

Yes, I nearly choked on birthday cake! I was REALLY hoping they were real uzis, but I had a hunch they were either MAC or TEC based on her description. I wish the MAC was in 9mm, then I'd be inclined to keep it. The TEC-9 is slated to replace my current car gun - Kel-Tec SUB-2000.

BTW... why is the TEC-9 a piece of junk? I haven't fired it, but it appears to be well-built.

Colorado, so, no. The 50-rounder is a bit unwieldy. It would be almost impossible to shoot prone. I'm going to look for a 20-round because that would be nearly level with the bottom of the grip. However, I'll keep a full 50-round stick in the car with me. Do they make drums for this gun?

Reliability is numero uno.

Any gun which is not known to be 100% reliable isn't worth having, IMO.

Cash out and get something which is mil-spec (excluding the POS AR of course).

I concur! The TEC 9 is only good for spraying out a moving car window.

I believe the MAC 12 is based on the same design as the Ingram and would prove to be much more reliable in full auto machine pistol.

Sell them both and get a good gun!

Check the Mac-12 and see if it fires from an open bolt. It would be worth quite a bit of money if it does.

(M)ilitary (A)rmament (C)orp - Used a little bit in Vietnam.

Nevermind, looks like the Mac 12 was closed bolt only. It would have had to say M11-A1 for the open bolt. Oh well...

I'm curious, is there any piece of equipment used by the US Military that you don't consider to be junk?

Thanks for the tip. This one must be a "closed bolt". It is stamped "Leinad" on the lower ("Daniel" backwards), and it is clearly marked Cobray all over the upper and on the fake can.
